A bail agreement is one important facet of the bail bond posting process. The indemnitor, or co-signor of the bail bond, and the bail agent enter into a contract known as a bail agreement. The indemnitor and the bond agent review the agreement and ensure all the information is correct, such as the amount of the bond, the name and contact information of the indemnitor, the criminal charges, the date the bond was executed, and the details of defendant’s court appearance. By signing the bail agreement, the indemnitor is agreeing to guarantee the defendant’s presence at his or her court date, or the indemnitor will be responsible for the entirety of the bail amount.
